We aim to inspire and educate with unique curated guides, and travel-focused wellness tips and workouts.
I’m Alex, a part-time traveller, full-time travel and wellness blogger and digital nomad originally from London, UK but based in Santiago, Chile. From a very young age, all I knew is that I wanted to travel- far and wide and never stop exploring.
I left the UK back in 2012 in pursuit of my dream to travel the world and to pursue a more nomadic way of living. I was frustrated with routine, society’s expectations and norms and I craved a life of exploration and freedom. I’ve always thought there was more to life than a 9-5 with the same routine, in the same office, in the same city day after day- it just didn’t agree with me.
There was one thing, however, that I didn’t want to leave behind in London and that was my health and fitness routine. I grew up surrounded by nutrition, healthy foods and exercise, I was going to the gym at least four times a week and was very conscious about what I put into my body. I was fuelling it to THRIVE and I had no idea how I would continue to do this on the road.
I began exploring what the world had to offer and I’ve never looked back. The most important things I’ve learned along the way is that your dreams and your health come first. It took me a while to work out a way to travel (on a budget back then) and make a healthy lifestyle work but fast-track 8 years and I’m here sharing all of my best tips and guides with you. I truly believe that you don’t have to trade in a healthy lifestyle for a budget backpacking trip, nor do you have to head to only pricey wellness retreats to incorporate wellness into your travels.

Roam and Thrive is my collection of the gems of this world, my tips on how to travel well and stay optimally healthy at the same time. This blog is for people who love to travel and live a healthy lifestyle but it’s also for those interested in travel, wellness, plant-based food and an itch to travel and discover. I’ve found my fair share of difficulties staying healthy and fit on the road and I’m here to offer my experiences for you to live your best life.
I travel to many countries across South America primarily but also North America, Europe, Asia and Africa, each place brimming with magic, charm, culture and delicious food and share it all with you. Sunrise run on a beach in Bali followed by a delicious, plant-based, local meal? If that’s your idea of heaven, I think we’ll get along just fine.
