One of the best ways to see the Statue of Liberty and Lower Manhattan is from the water. Catch the Staten Island ferry from Whitehall Terminal right by Battery Park and it takes 40 minutes to get to Staten Island. It’s one of the best things to do in New York alone.
The High Line is a raised, disused railway line that was eventually abandoned and then transformed into a garden-filled walkway. Along the High Line, you’ll find many little gardens, benches, and stops to relax but the best thing to do is just to stroll it while listening to a great podcast or taking some great photos.
The Brooklyn Bridge is one of New York’s highlights- not only for its hybrid steel cable/suspension bridge design but also for the incredible views you see from the bridge. Walking along the two-tiered bridge, traffic at the lower tier, and bicycles and pedestrians on the elevated pedestrian walkway, is one of the best things to do in New York alone. FIND OUT MORE HERE
Located in the central southern end of Central Park, Bethesda terrace is a bi-level lakeside terrace with a fountain. It’s unmissable when taking a stroll or going for a run in Central Park. Make sure to head down to the covered lower level where you’ll find elaborately carved ceilings and grand arches.
