Sarlat-la-Canéda, Dordogne 🇫🇷

Summer may be over, but make sure to bookmark Dordogne for future travels. Perfect for medieval villages, truffle markets, and golden-stone streets straight out of a fairy tale.

My tip would be to base yourself in Sarlat-la-Canéda — the jewel of the Dordogne — and explore this impossibly charming corner of southwest France. Here’s your hit list:

-Wander Sarlat’s Old Town — cobbled lanes, honey-hued façades, and endless photo ops. Don’t miss the Cathedral of Saint-Sacerdos and the Viewpoint from the Ascenseur Panoramique.

-Shop & Snack at the Sarlat Market — Saturdays and Wednesdays are foodie heaven. Local foie gras, walnut cakes, and black truffles everywhere.

-Canoe the Dordogne River — paddle past castles and cliffside villages like La Roque-Gageac and Beynac-et-Cazenac.

-Château Hopping — explore the romantic Château de Beynac, the imposing Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, and the extraordinary Château des Milandes, once home to the icon Josephine Baker.

-Step Back in Time at Lascaux IV — see the world-famous prehistoric cave art recreated in spellbinding detail.

-Picnic in Marqueyssac Gardens — these sculpted boxwood gardens with sweeping valley views are pure magic at golden hour.

-Sip Dordogne Wines — head to nearby Bergerac or Pécharmant for easy day-trip tastings.

💫 Stay a few nights, eat everything, and let Sarlat’s medieval glow work its slow mag

Mexico travel is back in full swing and from the restaurants of CDMX to the cenotes of Yucatan I’ve been diving deep into all corners of the country, refreshing every one of my Mexico travel guides on the blog with updated tips, new openings and more hidden gems.

Punta Mita is the ultra-chic sun drenched enclave on Mexico’s Pacific coast. I’ve just updated my full guide to the best things to do in Punta Mita from secluded beaches and surf spots to world class restaurants.

Get the full guide via the link in bio and plan your next escape.
