Santa Teresa is best visited in the dry season which runs from December – April. This is Costa Rica’s winter season so temperatures should be cooler and days sunnier and brighter.
Montezuma Waterfall is a breathtaking series of three cascading waterfalls near Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. It’s actually located a 45-minute drive from Santa Teresa and just south of Cobano, so you’ll need your own wheels or to take a tour to get there. To reach the first tier, follow a 20-minute walk along the Montezuma River upstream. This path leads to the subsequent waterfalls, where you can enjoy a refreshing dip after the humid trek through the jungle..
One of the best things to do in Santa Teresa Costa Rica is actually to go shopping. Santa Teresa has some of the best local boutique stores in the country from local designers and artisans. Two of my top boutique recommendations are Pacific Wolf Factory (PAWO) for swimwear and resort wear and Studio Collectiva for exquisite, conceptual items.
Visiting Cabo Blanco Natural Reserve offers a splendid day trip opportunity from Santa Teresa for those keen to immerse themselves in Costa Rica’s rich flora and fauna. The reserve is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including various monkey species, reptiles, sloths, and numerous birds, toucans included.
