12 Best Restaurants in Ostuni, Puglia
Uncover the best restaurants in Ostuni, from an Ostuni local.
Located in the heart of Puglia’s sun-soaked countryside, Ostuni has been my home for the last two years. Living here means more than just the whitewashed buildings and postcard-worthy views; it means indulging in some of the best food Italy has to offer, on the weekly.
When I’m not dining in or exploring Ostuni, you can usually find me in neighboring towns like Cisternino or Ceglie Messapica, each a handful of incredible dining experiences. I’ve eaten my way through countless menus, savoring everything from rustic, no-frills osterias to elevated Michelin-starred feasts.
When it comes to eating out in this corner of Puglia, I’ve done 2 years of homework, personally eating at every single one of these recommendations, countless times. Whether you’re after local flavors, impeccable wine pairings, or simply a plate of the best orecchiette of your life, these restaurants truly deliver.
Let me guide you through my personal favorites—each one tried, tested, and loved.
Top Tip: If you find yourself in Puglia outside of the main tourist season, so from November to April, many of these restaurants will be closed. Always call ahead first to see if they are open. As a general rule, most if not all restaurants in the historic center close outside of the season.

My Favorite Restaurants in Ostuni, Italy
Osteria Ricanatti
Osteria Ricanatti is a hidden gem where the food truly takes center stage. This is the kind of place where the food reminds you why Puglia is so celebrated for its culinary traditions.
The menu champions local ingredients, transforming them into dishes that are both simple and extraordinary. From handmade pasta to perfectly grilled meats, every plate feels like a love letter to Puglian flavors. There’s no unnecessary fuss or over-the-top presentation here—just beautifully crafted food that speaks for itself.
If you’re a foodie at heart, this is the kind of place you’ll be raving about long after your trip. At Osteria Ricanatti, it’s all about what’s on the plate—and that’s more than enough.
Osteria Del Tempo Perso
Osteria Del Tempo Perso is one of Ostuni’s standout dining experiences, bringing together upscale elegance with the heart of traditional Puglian cuisine.
The restaurant is split into two distinct spaces: a smaller, more modern dining area and a stunning, cave-like room that feels as though you’ve stepped back in time. If you’re planning a visit, do yourself a favor and book a table in the cave—it’s an atmosphere like no other.
The food here is exceptional, with beautifully plated dishes that honor local ingredients, but with an elevated twist. I still dream about their buffalo milk pistachio cheesecake; it’s a dessert worth writing home about.
While you won’t find too many locals dining here during the busy summer months, Osteria Del Tempo Perso remains a firm favorite among locals and visitors alike when it reopens around Easter each year. Reservations are essential, especially for the cave section, as this spot is highly sought after for good reason.
Ristorante La Vecchia Terrazza Ostuni
This is a delightful spot in Ostuni that lives up to its name, offering a charming terrace with stunning views over the old town of Ostuni and the olive groves and out toward the Adriatic Sea. This restaurant combines a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere with a menu that focuses on traditional Puglian cuisine done well.
Seafood is a highlight here, with dishes like fresh catch-of-the-day and octopus stealing the show, though their meat and vegetarian options are equally satisfying.
Notably, this is one of the best options in Ostuni for gluten-free choices, with a wide range of dishes available, including gluten-free pasta. It’s the kind of place where you can linger over a long meal, enjoying the scenery and soaking up the local vibe.
Perfect for a romantic evening or a laid-back lunch, La Vecchia Terrazza is one of Ostuni’s go-to spots for a meal with a view and thoughtful accommodations for dietary needs.
Restaurant 700
For a more upscale meal in Ostuni, Restaurant 700 at Paragon 700 Boutique Hotel & Spa is the perfect choice. This elegant spot offers a dining experience that feels special.
If you’re looking for something a bit more laid-back, pop in at lunch for a menu featuring Italian and Puglian classics with a refined touch.
In the evening, the atmosphere shifts, and the restaurant elevates the experience with a carefully curated set menu showcasing seasonal ingredients and creative interpretations of regional flavors. Whether you’re dining under the vaulted ceilings or out in the stunning courtyard, Restaurant 700 is a must for those seeking sophistication with a side of Ostuni charm.
Masseria Moroseta
Masseria Moroseta is not just one of the best places to stay in Ostuni—it’s a true celebration of Puglian food and hospitality. The ingredients here come straight from the Masseria’s farm or garden, ensuring every dish is as fresh and local as it gets.
I had the pleasure of popping in for lunch thanks to the lovely Jessica of Bon Traveler, and it was an unforgettable experience. We enjoyed a 3-course feast brimming with local vegetables and seasonal produce, each plate representing the region’s culinary heritage.
You can pop in for one of their aperitivos they host in the summer months or a full dinner event, the food by resident Chef Giorgia Eugenia Goggi will leave you inspired.
Even if you’re not staying overnight, make time to visit when thinking about where to eat in Ostuni—this is a place where food, setting, and soul come together in the most Pugliese way. It’s easily one of the best restaurants in Ostuni, even though it isn’t your typical restaurant.

Impasto Napoletano
For me, Impasto Napoletano serves the best pizza in Ostuni, hands down. If you’re craving authentic Naples-style pizza, this is the place to be. Owned and operated by true Napoletanos, they bring generations of pizza-making expertise to the table—and you can taste it in every bite.
The dough is light, doughy, and airy, the crust perfectly charred, and the toppings are as fresh and flavorful as they come. The restaurant itself is large, no-frills, and super casual, but none of that matters when the pizza is this good.
It’s all about the food here, and Impasto Napoletano nails it every time. This is where I go for pizza every time I’m in Ostuni and they stay open all year which I love.
Al Solito Posto
While I think the pizzas are a tad better at Impasto Napoletano, Al Solito Posto comes in a close second. What’s fantastic about this spot is that it’s not just a pizzeria—it’s a full-fledged restaurant offering a wide range of dishes, from pasta to fresh seafood, fish, and meats.
It’s the perfect crowd-pleaser, making it an ideal choice if you’re dining with a group with varying tastes.
The food (and the wine) here is consistently good, with smaller portions and flavors that hit the spot. Their pizzas are well-executed with a thin, crispy base, while the pasta dishes are hearty and comforting, often featuring classic Puglian ingredients like fresh seafood or local vegetables.
I love how they almost always have tables available, so this place is my reliable go-to for spontaneous dinner plans when I haven’t made reservations.
Trattoria Sapere E Sapori
Trattoria Sapere E Sapori is a simple, no-frills spot that excels at serving traditional Puglian cuisine. This cozy trattoria is a fantastic option if you’re looking for authentic local flavors, with dishes that highlight the region’s rich culinary heritage like orecchiette con cime di rapa.
What sets it apart is that it’s one of the few places in Ostuni that’s reliably open for lunch, making it the perfect stop during a day of exploring the town’s picturesque center.
Whether you’re in the mood for handmade orecchiette, fresh seafood, or a classic antipasti spread, Trattoria Sapere E Sapori delivers hearty, satisfying meals that hit the spot every time.
Ristorante Taverna della Gelosia
It’s easy to miss the steep white stone staircase that plunges down to the open terrace of Taverna della Gelosia, but once you find it, you’ll feel as though you’ve discovered a secret garden tucked away in the heart of Ostuni.
The setting is undeniably charming, with vine-covered walls, flickering candles, and a view that feels quintessentially Puglian.
The menu here focuses on traditional regional dishes with a refined twist, showcasing the best of local ingredients in an elegant yet unpretentious way.
Their signature plates, like the orecchiette with ragu or the grilled octopus, are masterfully executed and full of flavor. I particularly love their bombette (rollmops) and roasted lamb which is sourced from a local masseria. Taverna della Gelosia offers a magical, unforgettable experience.
Borgo Antico Bistrot
I wouldn’t classify Borgo Antico Bistrot as a restaurant—it’s more of a fabulous spot for a lazy sunset aperitivo. If you’ve indulged in a long and late lunch, one of their beautifully presented aperitivo platters and small plates might just hit the spot.
The real star here, though, is the view: an exceptional panorama of the valley stretching all the way to the sea. At sunset, the light bathes the landscape in a warm, golden glow that’s unmissable.
Be sure to get here early; they don’t take reservations, and as the sun dips lower, queues begin forming fast. I steer clear in the peak summer months of July and August but come May, September, or October, it’s a fantastic way to wind down the day with a spritz in hand and that magical view.
Osteria Catedrale
Osteria Cattedrale is a charming gem in Ostuni, offering an intimate dining experience that feels like being welcomed into someone’s home. Run by a warm husband-and-wife duo, the restaurant is small and cozy, with just six tables, so making a reservation is a must.
The focus here is on traditional Puglian flavors, served through thoughtfully crafted set menus and an a la carte. The most classic option starts at just €30 for a generous three-course meal, showcasing authentic local dishes prepared with care and passion.
There’s also one for vegetarians and they are very willing to work around food allergies like gluten which isn’t the standard in Puglia.
The food is consistently fantastic (I’ve been here 3 times and every time it’s great), with dishes that truly highlight the region’s best ingredients, and the wine list is equally superb, featuring a curated selection of excellent local wines.
If you’re looking for a cozy, authentic experience with incredible food and wine, Osteria Cattedrale is the place to go as one of the best restaurants in Ostuni.
ACQUASANTA dispensa e vino
Acquasanta Dispensa e Vino is the perfect spot for wine lovers and those who appreciate beautifully crafted small bites. I come here for long, boozy lunches or a relaxed, laid-back dinner, this charming wine bar delivers every time.
Their small plates are outstanding—ideal for ordering a few to share around the table—and every dish is as thoughtfully prepared as the wine selection. Speaking of wine, it’s superb, making Acquasanta, in my opinion, the best wine bar in Ostuni.
Their collection leans heavily on natural wines, not so much from Puglia, but from across Italy, giving you the chance to explore unique and exciting labels. It’s an unmissable spot for anyone looking to pair great wine with equally great food in a relaxed and stylish atmosphere.
