While there’s nothing wrong with a 20th visit to Paris or Rome, if you’re looking for some alternative European destinations to visit this year then, welcome to Sofia. Bulgaria’s capital is small and compact but has plenty to do for a fantastic weekend away. Its creative dining scene is up there, as are its wonderful parks, churches and cafes. Count this as your sign to visit the Bulgarian capital. Guides coming soon.

Both villages are known for their dramatic setting- perched high in the mountains surrounded by rocky peaks but they are highly accessible and filled with fantastic things to do, including Italy’s longest zip line. Yes, you can zip line across the mountains from one village to the other! And… located just an hour drive from Matera, there’s no excuse not to visit.
