The Best Luxury Hotels in Thailand
Northern Thailand
InterContinental Khao Yai Hotel
Amid the breathtaking beauty of Thailand’s Khao Yai region, you’ll find the InterContinental Khao Yai Hotel, one of the most beautiful luxury hotels, full of sophistication.
If you’re heading out on a trip to the stunning and nature-filled Khao Yai National Park, the InterContinental is definitely an option worth considering just outside the park’s boundaries.
The entire resort is surrounded by nature and there’s a real feel of tranquility yet old-world, Thai luxury.
The hotel boasts lavishly designed rooms and suites- even upcycled railway carriages-, each thoughtfully adorned with modern amenities and showcasing stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. They all reminisce the adventurous days of the past.
The hotel also offers world-class spa treatments, excellent on-site dining and of course many options for excursions into the Khao Yai National Park.
Aleenta Retreat Chiang Mai
Aleenta is a gorgeous boutique resort just outside the northern city of Chiang Mai. The stunning boutique resort effortlessly marries the peaceful spirit of traditional Thai culture with a touch of modern luxury, creating an oasis that soothes the senses and rejuvenates the soul.
The resort offers various rooms and suites to stay in and I absolutely love the traditional Thai architecture, teak wooden villas and traditional Thai design. Each room and suite is unique yet they are all stunning.
We love Aleenta’s focus on wellness too. The on-site spa in a dream and they also have many different wellness programs to choose from during your stay. You’ll be able to immerse yourself in yoga, meditation, mindfulness and even Tibetan south therapy.
For those looking for a place to relax, to tune into their mind and body and just be in the present moment, this is it.
Four Seasons Resort, Chiang Mai
For those planning a stay in the beautiful northern city of Chiang Mai, few properties compare to the Four Seasons Resort.
The Four Seasons Resort in Chiang Mai captures the essence of luxury amidst Northern Thailand’s enchanting landscapes.
The resort boasts a harmonious blend of contemporary elegance and traditional charm, allowing guests access to a space that embraces the surrounding natural beauty.
Each building in the resort feels contemporary yet truly embodied traditional Thai architecture and heritage. Rooms and suites are large, bright and airy and the service is just unrivalled.
Make sure not to miss the superb on-site dining, spa and the private retreats where experts will carefully craft your stay to experience the best of what you’re looking for.
Villa Mahabhirom, Chiang Mai
One of the most stunning properties in Chiang Mai, Villa Mahabhirom is my personal favourite choice in the north of Thailand when it comes to architecture, design and cultural heritage.
The property really is stunning and you’ll find traditional Lanna architecture and style everywhere you go. It has a real small, boutique hotel feel which makes it perfect for those that want to escape giant resorts.
For wellness travellers, Villa Mahabhirom has some meticulously curated offerings. From personalized yoga sessions set in lush gardens to rejuvenating spa treatments that draw from ancient Thai traditions, the hotel crafts an immersive experience aimed at nurturing the mind, body, and soul.
For those in pursuit of a holistic retreat, Villa Mahabhirom emerges as an unparalleled choice, seamlessly fusing cultural richness with wellness-focused indulgence.
Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp and Resort
Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp offers one of the most unmatched stays in Thailand. Located in the heart of the jungle in Thailand’s Golden Triangle, this stay is perfect for those looking for rest and relaxation and a connection to Thailand’s natural world.
The highlight of the resort is the Elephant Camp and a stay here will give you the opportunity to get up close with the elephants and their mahouts.
You’ll also learn more about the elephants and how most of them here have been saved from the illegal logging industries.
Make sure to stay in the Jungle Bubbles- a private bubble observatory in the middle of the jungle where you can watch the elephants and nature from your bedside.
Make sure not to miss this once in a lifetime elephant and nature experience.
Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle, Chiang Rai
This might be the second Four Seasons property on this list but this second one in the north of Thailand is just too superb not to mention.
For the ultimate jungle adventure, book yourself a stay at the Tented Camp in the Golden Triangle.
Accommodation here is in swoon-worthy, luxurious tents with incredible views of the surrounding landscape and the on-site facilities are fantastic for such an off-the-beaten-path location.
The main highlight here is the jungle excursions, an opportunity to really get to know your surroundings and the gems of the Thailand jungle.

The Best Hotels in Bangkok, Thailand
Capella Bangkok
Capella Bangkok is one of the newest additions to Bangkok’s luxury hotel scene and it’s one of my favourites already. Facing onto the iconic Chao Phraya river, rooms and suites at Capella are modern, large and comfortable and with some of the best views in the city.
Suites and villas have private plunge pools or hot tubs, floor-to-ceiling windows, there’s a living room for guests to relax and meet with their personal concierge, and service is hushed but very much present- as it should be in my opinion.
Restaurants on-site include Michelin-stared Côte by Mauro Colagreco (make sure to make a reservation in advance for this one), and casual Thai-dining spot Phra Nakhon which will take your taste buds on a whirl around Thailand.
Don’t forget to grab a drink at Stella Bar during happy hour and definitely don’t miss a pampering session at Auriga Spa. They offer some of the most beautiful Western and Thai treatments and massage techniques you won’t see in many places.
Mandarin Oriental Bangkok
The Mandarin Oriental is one of Bangkok’s and Thailand’s most luxurious hotels. Prepared to be pampered and relaxed even in the midst of Bangkok’s chaos and noise.
The Mandarin Oriental’s location, right on the banks of the Chao Phraya River means it’s easier than ever to get around Thailand’s capital, without the traffic.
The rooms and suites are very contemporary and airy, just like you might expect from a Mandarin Oriental property, yet this one is elegant with distinctively Thai details.
Mandarin Oriental also boasts one of the best spas in Bangkok, The Oriental Spa and the Author’s Lounge, a historical meeting place for literary icons which exudes old world charm. It’s also one of the only luxury hotels in Bangkok with a professional tennis court.
RAKxa Wellness Centre
Just outside the hustle and bustle of central Bangkok, along the banks of the Chao Phraya river is RAKxa Wellness Center.
It’s an urban sanctuary that combines the opulence of a luxury hotel with the wisdom of ancient healing traditions. RAKxa Wellness Center is one of the best luxury hotels in Thailand and also one of the best wellness-focused properties in the world.
Take a few days out of your Thailand itinerary for a full-scale reboot for mind, body, and soul. RAKxa runs several different wellness retreats based on concerns such as Weight Control & Detox, Rebalance and Wellness & Recovery.

The property is also truly beautiful, with Zen architecture and spaces that are well and truly aiding relaxation and recovery.
Kimpton Maa Lai, Bangkok
The sleek, modern Kimpton Maa-Lai is a relaxed and easy stay in Bangkok. Everything seems to just gel perfectly in this 5-star hotel from the minimal and superb Amaranth Spa to the funky and vibey Bar Yard on the top floor.
Kimpton is everything you want from a luxury city hotel in Bangkok, there are relaxing spots where you can escape the noise like the gorgeous outdoor pool area or the spa, yet the fitness centre and pet-friendly CRAFT cafe allow you to just keep up with your regular lifestyle abroad.
A stay at Kimpton is stylish and modern and it won’t break the bank either.
The Siam
Designed by internationally acclaimed architect Bill Bensley, The Siam is one of the most beautiful hotels in Thailand. The hotel magnificently blends Art Deco aesthetics and Thai architecture and elegance, giving travellers a stylish refuge in Bangkok.
