Hydra | After arriving to this dreamy island, just an hour from Athens we checked into the impossibly chic @mandrakibeachresort - and what a special place it was.

Tucked away in its own secluded bay and only accessible by water taxi or a long coastal walk, Mandraki is the kind of hideaway that makes you forget an outside world exists.

It’s one of the newer boutique stays on the island and it’s has quickly become one of my favourite Greek island beach retreats.

Unlike staying in Hydra town, here it’s all about peace, privacy and waking up with the Aegean just steps away from your suite. The design is pared-back and elegant with a touch of sun-bleached, barefoot luxury that Greece does so well.

I’ve already shared my stay on roamandthrive.com and already posted a few more peeks on my stories…

Early spring in Sofia, Bulgaria

While it might not be Europe’s most popular destination, Sofia offers a surprisingly rich and rewarding experience for curious travelers. The city is located at the foot of Mount Vitosha, and blends layers of history—from Roman ruins to Ottoman mosques and Soviet-era architecture—with a vibrant, evolving culture.

The food scene is a standout, with cozy taverns serving hearty dishes like banitsa, shopska salad, and slow-roasted meats, alongside modern spots reimagining traditional Bulgarian flavors.

Sofia’s charm lies in its contrasts: ancient churches beside trendy cafés, quiet parks near bustling markets.

Stay tuned—my Sofia travel guides are coming soon!

Who’s up for a Greek summer this year?

Reggia Di Caserta, from the more recent archives.

The Royal Palace of Caserta, often dubbed the “Versailles of Italy,” is one of the grandest palaces in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Commissioned in the 18th century by King Charles VII of Naples, this architectural masterpiece features over 1,200 opulent rooms, vast baroque gardens, majestic fountains, and a dramatic staircase that showcases the grandeur of Bourbon rule.

Located just 30 minutes north of Naples by train or car, the palace is easily accessible for a day trip and offers a captivating journey through royal history, art, and landscape design. 🔗 in bio for the full guide to visiting.
