My Peanut Butter Bliss Balls Recipe
Makes 14 medium balls
Total Time: 20 minutes
–
200 grams ( 7 oz) almonds (roasted and unsalted work best)
150 grams ( 5 oz) dates and their soaking water
50 grams (2 oz) oats
1/4 cup peanut butter
1 teaspoon cinnamon
A pinch of salt
Instructions:
Firstly put the dates in a bowl and cover them with hot water. Let the dates soak for about 10-15 minutes before using. Reserve their soaking water.
In a mixer or food processor, mix together the almonds and oats until they reduce to a meal.
Then add cinnamon, peanut butter, dates, and 2 tablespoons of their soaking water. Mix on high until a thick paste forms.
If the mixture is too wet, add a little more oats and if it hasn’t yet formed a thick paste keep adding a little water at a time until it does.
To shape the bliss balls simply scoop out a tablespoon of mixture at a time and roll into a ball with your hands. If you prefer smaller, bite-sized balls, use a teaspoon.
Place all the balls on a plate so they aren’t touching each other. Put in the freezer for an hour to set. Once they have set you can transfer them into an air-tight container and keep them in the fridge or freezer.

Chocolate Coconut Date Balls
This variation uses the same base ingredients as above, almonds and dates with the addition of chocolate and coconut to change the flavour a little for that perfect chocolatey treat.
Note that if you don’t have raw cacao powder you can use regular unsweetened cocoa powder too.

100 grams (3.5 oz) toasted shredded coconut + more for dusting
4 tablespoons raw cacao powder + more for dusting
1 teaspoon cinnamon
A pinch of salt
Instructions:
Firstly put the dates in a bowl and cover them with hot water. Let the dates soak for about 10-15 minutes before using. Reserve their soaking water.
In a mixer or food processor, mix together the almonds and oats until they reduce to a meal.

To shape the bliss balls simply scoop out a tablespoon of mixture at a time and roll into a ball with your hands. If you prefer smaller, bite-sized balls, use a teaspoon.
Cover a chopping board or flat surface half with shredded coconut and the other with cacao powder. Once you’ve rolled a bliss ball, roll it in the coconut or cacao powder to cover the ball in shredded coconut or chocolate.
I like to alternate- one with coconut, the other in chocolate to keep things interesting.
Place all the balls on a plate so they aren’t touching each other. Put in the freezer for an hour to set. Once they have set you can transfer them into an air-tight container and keep them in the fridge or freezer.
Date Almond Coconut Balls
This recipe is the same as above just omit the coconut.
These balls are perfect if you want something super gooey and tropical without the chocolate.
To add a burst of freshness add 1 tbsp of finely chopped dried pineapple or papaya to make them even more tropical.
